This is an autobiographical tale
filled with adventure—the story of John Bishop who left the logging
camps of B.C. on
8 August 1950
to join the Canadian Army Special Force for service in
Korea
as a private soldier and, 36 years later retired from the Canadian
Forces as a Lt.-Colonel. The
book is an intriguing account of the battles for the hills during the
Korean War, culminating in the gallant stand at Kap’yong that earned
the PPCLI a rare U.S. Presidential Unit Citation.
